OT: I just booked BOG-MIA, and MIA-NYC in two different booking as they are different classes, called BA to combine the renovation and they said they can't combine a online reservation - "you Should have called us!" She tells me.

My question is:

1. Is she right?
2. If she is, what are my chances that they will not be willing to combine it when checking in before the light?

Reservations cant be combined after booking, why do you to "combine" them anyway?

Is it not helpful to have one reservation so you can check your bags all the way through?

If your answer is that you can still do it by showing both reservations at check-in, does this work if you are flying different airlines (within or without the same alliance)?  E.g., if I flew SAN-DFW on AA, and then DFW to ORD on UA could I have the AA agent in SAN check my bags all the way through to ORD?

Yes, all major carriers interline baggage.  No big deal.

Thanks, one more question on this topic...

If you miss a connection with separate reservations will they help you get to your destination or are you out of luck?  Any difference if same airline, same alliance or different alliances?  E.g., (i) SAN-IAH on CO, then separate reservation for IAH to CLE on CO, or (ii) SAN-DFW on AA and DFW-ORD on UA.

BA considers most AA business class, including all flights to Hawaii, to be first class.  AA also does not fly NYC-HNL nonstop, which makes that a bad use of miles.
NYC-LAX-HNL is 50K BA miles in coach and 150K BA miles in business/first.

thanks for the response. are you telling me the going rate for RT to HNL or did you actually see availability for the dates i posted?
Also if BA miles (which i find useless in most cases) is not a good use of BA miles, then what is the best recomendation to get to HNL from NY? i thought you always said that we should use BA/AA miles for hawaii bec they kinda consider it domestic? maybe a new master thread, like the one you made for israel, would answer alot of people's questions
thanks!

BA is now only good for nonstop domestic flights, so no good from NYC-HNL, but great for LAX-HNL.
All the domestic carriers will be about the same to HI, no need for a master thread.

I just flew form YYZ to LGA on AA metal booked through BA using 4500 avios points. My boarding pass printed with priority access. I've been told this has been happening to other as well.
Can anyone verify or explain?
Has this been mentioned in the forums before? I did some reading but didn't see it.

Can you book an AA Ticket via BA executive club  online or is there a 24 hour reservation number from us/can?

Yes you can. The phone line is not 24 hours.
Go online: 1. executive club
2. Spend Avious miles.
3. Search dates.
4. Then press "include partners", and it'll show up.
