Can anyone help me , i am trying to buy 2 tickets to israel from ny using my BA miles but i remember Dan said something about buying it through AA with ba miles cuz they want 600 each for taxes on ba. Can anyone tell me how i could purchase the ticket through aa with my ba/avious miles?

Not sure if this has been discussed before, do flights booked with Avios on AA have the same policies re reg AA award travel re change fees?
I.e. no change fees.
No. Flight originating from North America have a $40 fee for Date/time changes as well as for Cancellations/Avios redeposits.

Pretty sure it only works for domestic (where you otherwise couldn't use BA metal).

@dealvr
I believe changes are free online, $40 over the phone.
Mocha is correct about cancellations though, AFAIK.

@eve
If you have BA miles, you need to use BA to book. There will be hefty fees to TLV. Sorry.
Dan was referring to using your BA miles to book western hemisphere travel flying AA.
For example, if you want to fly NYC-MIA, use your BA miles to book a flight on AA planes, but you need to book with BA regardless of if you end up flying BA or AA, because its BA miles. (There's no way to fly BA to MIA, I'm just giving an example)

Incorrect. It would be $40+$25 If you did it over the phone.

Thanks yosef - these avios miles to Israel are just about worth $400 OR LESS in other words. Too bad.

What are the chances of Saaver availability opening up for an LAX-JFK flight in 7 weeks?

Need some advice.

I may be landing in JFK at 5:30 in the afternoon on Thursday, 3/22 (from TLV via Kiev), and would like to use my BA to book AA from LaGuardia to CLE leaving at 7:05. I don't intend on checking luggage. I will be flying back to NYC on the following Sunday.

Am I crazy to hope to get to the flight on time? If I book the ticket for Thursday evening and miss it, can I switch it to Friday for free, or will the $40 fee still apply?

Any other ideas of how to get to CLE using miles? Perhaps 2 one way tix on diff airlines.

I found many times on AA that availability opened on Sunday mornings, even close to the flight date

I would think its crazy to land, transfer airports, and board within a hour in a half. Let alone rush hour.

I just missed a UA ewr-dfw, it was completely my fault, and they let me right on the next flight without paying anythin. AA def will as long as there's any availability as they have free same day changes, so you can even change before you take off at Kiev
