Indochino Master Thread
« on: June 17, 2021, 06:14:11 PM »
Seems like a lot of DDFers have tried out Indochino custom suits and am wondering if you guys can share your experience. How do their suits compare to off-the-rack and other custom suits? How is the material? Pricing seems pretty competitive especially if you one of the suits on sale.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

I wasn't happy with the quality or service. My brother loves them...

Love mine, but it took a few tries to get it perfect.

Going back multiple times for the first suit or only after purchasing a few suits?

+1. First suit came with serious fit issues, I went in and got remeasured, second suit fit perfectly but the jacket had some bubbles in the fabric so I sent them pictures and they remade the jacket again. Now fits perfectly and looks really nice.

Did you pay for a new suit or did they agree to redo it for you?

They remade it for free. They had done the measuring the first time around and it didn't fit well.

I'm not sure what they'd do if you measure yourself at home and then it doesn't fit well as it's not really their fault, but regardless I can't imagine a suit fitting well if I tried measuring myself. I think it's a bad idea.

First suit. Once they get the fit right it's saved in their system.

Seems like the getting-it-right-issue is not with the actual making of the suit but rather with the skill at measuring people and picking up on their preferences. Any recommendations for specific employees in NY/NJ?

...and that is the risk with all MTM or bespoke operations, which is why I now buy off the rack and pay for tailoring.

Anyone have any experience going to a Nordstrom location vs a regular show room?

ordered a suit, and it doesn't fit at all. they asked me for pics, and based on these pics they said that their tailor specialists said that its not bad enough to have a new remake, and that I should get a quote from a local tailor if it is indeed more than they can reimburse me for. Is that an actual possibility to just walk into a local tailor and get an official written quote if I don't plan on using them? I asked if I can come into their store and have it checked, we will see their response... for the record, almost every part is 2-3 inches too big, including the length of the jacket, around 2-1/2- 3 inches past the top thumb knuckle where it usually reaches... can the jacket even be fixed then, wont the open V and the buttons be off? any experiences or  suggestions is appreciated.

If you live close to a store, just go into the store and show it to them. My first suit with them came out pretty big, and they were very understanidng in store, and offered to remake it right away.

Did you measure yourself or did they measure you instore?

They measured me in store. Its not the easiest for me to go into a store but I can make it there. I asked if I can do that, and hope they respond that I can.

Go to a store within 10 days and they'll remake it.

You can make an appointment on their site for a post-sale fitting. No need to wait for a response.
But they are strict with the 10 day policy.
