The governor and mayor came to address Young Israel today after davening (first lady and Chaplain also came). I heard he was also by The Shul but I wasn’t there so I don’t know.

In short they said that there’s no new news and they are trying their hardest and working very hard to uncover everything as quickly as possible. They wish their condolences to the Jewish community and know that the hardest time is still coming.

yes I do. Sadly bureaucracy makes everything  and a mix of ego makes everything take slower and harder

And once you get them in, it only takes minutes to clear the debris field.

Sorry to be blunt, it's going to take time. Like "come back in a month and see if their finished yet" time. It is very unlikely that anything very small very lucky percentage even survived the collapse, forget about the subsequent fire and injuries. It hurts to look the truth in the face, but it's the truth.

Excavators are a fairly common piece of equipment, there's no reason they couldn't be at work within 12 hours.

Why did it take 3 days to get crews to begin removing rubble from the top?

The wait must be agonizing r”l.

If they’re assuming all those missing have perished r”l, they might go extra slow with the excavation if they think there’s evidence in the rubble that has to somehow be preserved.
