Whatever, it's silly talk just musing.

Even if it was doable, the ground shifting could destroy some of the voids which hopefully are holding survivors. Not to mention the pile further collapsing in.

There is no answer to this crisis.

For all the therapy that will be needed after this, a little more false hope won't add much to the trauma.

There are two sorts of hope over here. 1. Statistically speaking after a week there’s no hope, but that’s only for the press. 2. As Jews we never give up, isn’t that why you say ANI MAMIN every day. Leading family to believe that there's a chance of seeing their loved ones alive again? I don't see the downside. There will be time for mourning and grief if it's necessary. Until then, we keep it hope alive for a few more days. It's not as if this situation doesn't have an end in sight.

On Wednesday night they actually discovered voids- not manmade- and larger then what they believed was possible based on the pancake nature of the collapse.

Which is fine but nobody should complain that we’re creating false hope here if this is exactly what the officials are doing publicly.

It’s not about hope. It’s family. If there’s even 0.001% chance that a relative can be rescued, the family should feel compelled to do everything they possibly can while there’s still a chance. This will also give them closure and avoid any guilty regrets.
