But not the kind of dust usually found indoors.  This is dust created from pulverized concrete, furnishings, etc, so can contain other toxic chemicals as well as the fine particles that can irritate the lungs. 

Miami-Dade PD:Dust is an unpreventable byproduct of all types of demolition. As a precautionary measure, we recommend you close all windows, doors and air intakes, cover any other openings that might allow dust to enter your apartment, house or building, and turn your A/C on re-circulate.

“At the end of the day, that building is too unsafe to let people go back in,” DeSantis said. “I know there’s a lot of people who were able to get out, fortunately, who have things there. I'm not saying it's not terribly sad, and I'm not trying to be insensitive, as I would be distraught like crazy if I lost all my possessions, but being that the residents were saved in a marvelous fashion, with the rest of their building falling out from under them, it does give some context to this.
