Didn’t know makes things much easier for me to convert (I’m in process) but you guys are scaring me off. From my vantage point it’s much better to be where I am now I’ll get much more Kiruv.
The Rebbe didn't try "convert" people. Many people were told to stay where they were, keep their minhagim, etc. The Rebbe encouraged everyone to learn Chassidus, encouraged people to grow their beards, etc, but not "become Lubavitch" per se.
ETA: that's not to say *you* shouldn't "become a Lubavitcher" if you so desire and choose. I mean, for that there is
