Suggestions for disabling LED light on new refrigerator
« on: January 13, 2021, 09:14:30 AM »
Just purchased a new refrigerator (LG LTCS20020W) and am looking for suggestions to disable the LED light for shabbos.

I reviewed the manual and there is no panel or control and since its an LED inside the housing, you cannot unscrew the bulb as there is no access.

Looking for suggestions as to how to set this up for Shabbos use.

Don’t know about this specific model, but maybe electric tape over the sensor?

Get strong magnets and put the them on the top of the door hinge and it should resolve your issue

There's a velcro thingy you can buy to stick over the switch that gets pressed when the door closes.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

This was closest to the right answer as there was no button or hinge that controlled the light.

There was a spot just inside the fridge that had a little panel on it which was covered by the door when the door closed. I put a magnet on the panel and the light went off. I then taped the magnet to the panel and the light stayed off.

Thank you to all who responded.

I also ran into this same problem, I googled it & when I saw DDF as 1 of the results, I right away knew that the solution is a click away & I was proven right after practicing the above.

Thank you!!
