There are pills for this. Ask your dr.

If you want to be a little experimental try soaking your fingers/toes in apple cider vinegar (diluted with water at least halfway) for two weeks everyday for 10 minutes or so.

Disclaimer #1 : I'm not a natural healer type of guy. This is based on my observation of someone with a mild case of fungus on their fingernails that doing the above helped.

Disclaimer #2: Apple cider vinegar stinks to high heavens

I am a Podiatrist. In my Experience lamisil tends to work best. Depending on the severity of your fungus, you May see results using topical antifungals as well. Lasers can be effective in certain cases as well but they are not covered by insurance. I have also had some patients tell me that they have seen results with apple cider vinegar but I don’t really have any first hand knowledge. Find yourself a foot doctor/dermatologist.

was looking not to take pills and not go to a dr thought maybe I could try something myself.  Mine is not so severe but both fingers and toes are affected. Is Lamisil over the counter? good for both toes and fingers? which topical antifungals do you recommend?

Lamisil is not over the counter. You need to be monitored for potential liver side effects. Are you sure it’s fungus?

Lamisil cream certainly comes in an OTC variety, you can find it on Amazon. As with many OTC products, the manufacturer might make higher-dosage versions of the same product, sometimes with non-OTC additives, which requires a prescription.

Lamisil is not over the counter. You need to be monitored for potential liver side effects. Are you sure it’s fungus?

Which white stuff? Sometimes white marks on the nails indicate a calcium (I think) deficiency.

What causes these funguses ? I used to think it’s an old person thing but a lot of young people have it.

Not a medical professional, but if I had to guess:  Mikvah. Not drying feet properly after bathing/showering/swimming. Poorly ventilated shoes.

I have a friend who once took Lamisil for nail fungus. He stopped taking it after he saw relief, not going through the entire regimen that was prescribed to him. He later developed an allergic reaction (or some kind of other immune response) to Lamisil and can no-longer take it.

In your experience did you ever come across any adverse effects to lamisil? 
Why is there so many bad rumors out on this drug (more than others)
