It goes up and down and they'll tell you that they calculate it based on the current price of an adult ticket, but I've seen them lock in a price at some point and notate it, so if you get a good price go for it.

Lol, never took Rafi around the world. Gotta ask moish or chuchem.

Only places rafi flew outside of the US50/Canada are Aruba and Argentina.

Aruba was courtesy of a JetBlue 17bm and Argentina was done with avios which charges 10% of the miles not the fare.

Thanks - I couldn't imagine you actually paid cash

We always got seats for the kids, but usually take all of them and fly economy. No way I'm shelling out 300K UR points for a 10 month old.
One more question - a lap baby in Business on United int'l - any baggage allowed? (at the rate we're going looks like the other 6 suitcases will be filled)

Flying Newark to San Diego on United award ticket economy. Did not pay for infant that is flying with us. Any strategies to try and get "free" seat for infant (assuming flight not full)

If the flight isn't full and you happen to bump into a nice agent they can block the seat next to you.

Can I book infant separately with AC for $100 or does he need to be with an adult who was ticketed with AC?

Any other solutions?

Needs to be with an adult if im not mistaken. I think aeroplan has also a solid child policy.

For 500$ its prob more worth it to book a saver ticket for him. (wrong DOB obviously)

Why wrong DOB? I'm allowed to book a seat for infant no?!

Wonder what chances are I can ask for bassinet then... would probably make things harder... but 32500 UA miles may still be better than $550...

Also UA said some very very weird thing, that they can only ticket the lap child 48 hours before departure, because it's multiple carriers, I said never had a problem but they said that department requires that travel date be less than 48 hours..
