If I book Elal biz NYC-TLV RT using AA points, how much will infant charges be?

10% of published fare? Plus YQ?
I tried searching and didn't see any answers here.

Hi everyone,

Any good ideas for US to TLV using AA or AS miles? I want to minimize the cash used. I'd probably be OK with a stop over somewhere like Turkey. I was thinking about Emirates or Etihad and then a quick flight to TLV but the 10% charge kills it.

Thanks!

What happens if you book a lap child on reg economy award tickets , then you upgrade to first will they charge you more for the lap child ? Or once it ticketed it's done ?
did you end up trying?

Not really much you can do in that regard with AA or AS.
AC and M&M are your best bets for minimizing the infant charges to TLV.

That's what I was afraid of. Are there any good ways to use Avios (US airways flight? Which seems to have slim availability these days) or UR/MR?

BA charges YQ on US which would likely negate any savings you get by booking through them. You can transfer your MR to AC.

Thanks! If I book a UA flight with AC miles, would I be charged the AC price or the UA price? I'm having trouble figuring out who charges the lap fee - the airline you book through or the airline you fly.

This also applies to Avios flights. If I book a US flight using Avios, which fee do I pay?

It goes by the Airline you book through.

That's what I thought, but AS seems to use the airlines you're booking on (fees on their flights are just taxes from what I've read).

Hi all,
I want to redeem AA/US miles for me and my wife with an infant.
the route would look like: DFW - LAX/SFO/ORD - NRT in business (I like to try JL C, but I have to take AA flight first)
                                           AA                   JL
the question is: when I add a lap child with AA, it'd cost me $1200. But if I can add it with JL, it'd be $800. So can I skip DFW-LAX leg since it's domestic?
Thank you.

Im looking to book a UA one way flight EWR-TLV for 2 adults with an infant. I see that they charge a U.S. Federal Transportation Tax of $17.50 for the infant

What is that???

If i get a Y award ticket (for a friend/relative) on the same flights as me (booked in F) and add my infant to the Y ticket, i would pay only 10% of the Y fare. Would the airline give me issues bringing my kid into F since he technically is booked on a Y ticket?

Why do that?

Just book your kid his own seat in Y, but again either way it probably won't work.

I figure i have an easier chance of adding infant as a lap-child to a Y ticket.

By "won't work", what do you mean. Bringing him in F, or booking him his own Y seat?

My bad, if you add to a Y ticket then possibly they will let you bring him in, don't know for how long though..
