In general, does it indicate any class on the infant ticket?

Anyone book a lufthansa flight with non-lufthansa miles, and successfully get them to issue an infant ticket for 17.50? I just did with asiana on united metal, and after a bit  of huca, united issued the ticket.

I booked an award ticket on BA from NYC to TLV and on UA for the return. I felt that I cannot take the risk of having to hold a 13 month old on my lap for those flights, so I booked a ticket for the infant too (100% of the adult miles, slightly less taxes). Was this the right move? Or could I have gotten a guaranteed seat for the infant by adding the infant after booking at 10%?

Also, I found out that BA has a bassinet row on both legs of the flight that would have been assigned to me had I not booked the infant ticket. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to deal with the obstinate BA reps who refuse to assign it to me? My impeccable yeshiva logic that since they would have given me the row had I paid less, a fortiori they should give it to me if I paid extra, did not help one bit  ;D
The big chidush I see in your post is that someone actually books BA award flights to TLV. I haven't checked in a while, but from what I recall the YQ is so obscene, that at times one can get a revenue ticket for less. And since you're talking bassinet, it sounds like it's in Y.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Why not call Cathay to add? That's a long flight to carry an infant - is there no availability?

Seems infant costs for CX is 25% ex-USA

Does that mean my best booking option for ORD-HKG-TLV would be just booking an extra ticket with AS?

ETA can I even fly with an infant in F on the 77W and J on the A350?

New question.

Can I book LH F using Aeroplan and then add lap child via LH for $17.50?

Also if I am reading correctly LH gives an infant a free bag besides for the carriage which is pretty sweet.

ETA not using AC cause they charge YQ  :-[

Once it's attached I don't see why it wouldn't work, so I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.
We now have $200 in the pot.
On a $1,000 infant ticket you can probably save $900 by trying out this method and there will be a pot if you get to the airport and run into any problems and need to pay for the $1,000 ticket.  Not too much downside.

Any more contributors or volunteers?
Is the pot still around? Should I be the crazy one here?

If you were to book using Aeroplan, an infant in F is only C$125.
