Author Topic: Infant On Reward Ticket Master Thread (Read 170046 times)

Booked international award ticket using SQ miles on UA metal.
Trying to add infant in arms.
United says they cannot do it because they did not issue the ticket.
Singapore says they cannot do it because they have no way to price it.
I have called both airlines multiple times.
My understanding is that SQ needs to issue this infant ticket at 10% of the regular adult fare.
HUCA has so far not helped. I even got the base fare from United and passed on that information to SQ. They still can't seem to book it.
Any advice or experience???

Both can do it with enough pushing. Can also get a travel agent to issue it and call united to associate to your booking. Alternatively go in to the airport an hour earlier and buy the ticket at the counter.

I had the same thing with NH Miles on UA metal that neither could book, even after conferencing the 2 airlines on one call.
I ended up booking a dummy booking with a travel agent (found here on DDF

and adding the infant to that ticket. I then called united and ask them to attach the infant to my ticket. At which point they said "oh no sir WE need to issue the infant ticket" so they did and we canceled the original infant ticket. (if you do this, make sure to tip your TA).
As a DP I tried to do tje same thing myself without a TA and was unsucessful

I tried to get each one to initiate a conference call. Neither would do so, although both said they would gladly talk to the other if called...

united did it quite willingly for me, but it turned out to be a waste of time... (albeit with some humorous value)

Ask the UA agent to create a ghost ticket, then add the infant on it and then put the infant on your ticket.
