This book came before Shabbos and I read part of it over Shabbos. Really fascinating. Delves into the halachic aspects of many popular food questions.

I'm posting pictures of the table of contents and of two pages, to give an idea. IMO, really worthwhile for $10.90, especially when it's selling elsewhere for $27.

Any info on the author and his credentials?

Lives in Eretz Yisroel and seems to be affiliated with Ohr Somayach. Has written for years for many media outlets (Hamodia, Yated, Ami), and I've just seen a piece from him linked on Hefkervelt this past week. Book has haskamos from Rav Osher Weiss, Rav Yisroel Reisman, Rav Ephraim Greenblatt, Rav Zev Leff, and some others.

I don't know much more than that.
