I will retype it.
Tom Brady wouldn't get the same fuzzy media treatment.
She is only getting it because the media won't attack a black woman for any money in the world.
Lol, you've already thrown off the mask, so there's no need to address your hypocritically ascribed racial motives.
But if you want to compare Simone Biles to other players, we can start by looking at the reactions Dak Prescott received when he revealed his mental health battles.
I wonder if people realize just how dangerous what she's doing is. She does things that have never been attempted before. If she is off by a fraction of a second she could snap her neck and die. She tried to perform, her mind was off, she couldn't focus properly. Backing out wasn't cowardly, she could have been saving her own life.
As for quitting on the team, let me give you another example. Who is a better team player, Arod or Jeter? Jeter, right? He is The Captain™! When Arod was traded to the Yankees, who was the better shortstop? Who would have given the Yankees a better shot to win the game with their shortstop play? Without question, it was Arod. Yet Arod never for a moment even dreamed of moving Jeter, and Jeter never for a second contemplated giving up his spot.
How many aging players refuse to retire with far superior younger players waiting in the wings? How many players play through injury when an uninjured replacement would fare much better and give the team a better shot at winning? Simone tried to perform, realized she was hurting her team's chances, and bowed out to make room for someone else who would perform better to take her place, AND IT WORKED! Had she continued they would never have won silver.
Yes, if Tom Brady realized he couldn't throw the ball well enough to win in the Superbowl and took himself out of the game, he would be celebrated. He wouldn't be called a winner, and neither should Simone be called a gold medal winner, though she can still be celebrated. Just like Brady's record shows us that "quitting" was obviously not because he can't handle pressure - he has more rings than a Vegas pawn shop - Simone's record tell us the same.
Simone is not just the gymnastics GOAT, she might be the best at doing her job as just about anyone in the world is doing theirs. When she was winning golds and breaking records, everyone cheered USA USA USA, as if her personal achievements reflected some sort of great nationalistic pride*. The second she withdrew from competition, you had whiny jerks going off about her embarrassing the country. Some people called these sniveling cowards racists, but I had no reason to think that was true - until your comment, so thanks for clarifying.
*I get this, I really do. I swelled with pride watching Tatjana Schoenmaker win gold and break the world record even though I had never heard of her before, and have not heard a word about women's swimming since Penny Haynes won gold in 1996
