Give it another few weeks. This is a couple of weeks behind. I'm seeing this all over with my own eyes. Frum communities are like the canary in the mine being that we are in close contact with each other all the time.

If we can get the same data (vaxxed vs. unvaxxed) by zip code, or for the Bronx, we’ll have a better idea if you’re right.

Case data isn’t lagged so I don’t see what more we’ll learn in a few weeks? If trend continues for a few days and is similar in other data sources / places we have our answer.

What “other places” data are you referring to?

Canada, Israel, uk, etc. or any source in the US, but it’s difficult bc most places don’t have vax data for cases.

For Omicron? What is that data showing?

It seems @BP16 likes giving up dates only when cases are down in FL. They are #2 in the country and DR Death is MIA!!!

No, he said the other day that he wants Biden to remove all federal Covid restrictions.

OK so lets see:
Location   Cases   Deaths
California  5.39M
              +49,384     76,505
                                    +85
Texas       4.54M
             +15,411       75,880
                                 +81
Florida    3.97M
           +29,059       62,390 +1

New York  3.26M
             +48,836     58,650
                               +46

I guess Its still better to be in FL or TX

Fl daily deaths will never be high, bc they decided to report different from how all other states report to make their metrics look better.

This summer, they were at a few dozen daily deaths. Which got updated over the next few weeks to 300 a day.

Also they aren’t getting 50k cases a day.

Source was prob not updated each day and includes several days of cases.

Source? My recollection is that this was debunked.

Debunked?

They report based on day of death not day of report. So if you look at latest day, it’ll only include those that died and their death was reported in the last day. So there’s more of a lag.

Everywhere else reports based on date reported. So there’s less lag. But some of the deaths may have happened a week or two ago.

For example, here’s wayback machine on worldometer’s fl Covid death count as of end of august and end of September.

Their deaths always go down to 0 because very few ppls deaths get counted the next day.

Over time it’ll be complete, but by that point, the trends will likely be better.

My recollection is that many report this way and it is easy for anyone to reconcile from FLs method to the other one. Any reporter who doesn't should be fired.

Oh, it’s easy to reconcile.

But only after 3 or so weeks when the data has developed. Until then, it looks like the data is always improving / near 0.

And yes - you should look at change in total deaths, not daily deaths. But in the summer they only updated this once a week in batches.

Anyone can calculate the difference  in total reported  deaths daily regardless of what date they were attributed to. This was discussed at length previously. Maybe even in this thread.

What difference  does it make to us now how the summer numbers were reported?
