Also ignores density of NJ/downstate NY.

Yet the trend is pretty clear.

You don’t need a perfect comparison to see trends or patterns.

There is no trend for Florida in the chart. If you are seeing one please point it out.

Seemingly OP's point is that Florida is performing poorly because of vaccination rates...
That's what you took out of the tweet? I would've said the guy is pointing out that FL's performance is worse than its vaccination rate would predict, without attempting to give an explanation.

I hear that.

Florida is way out of the trend line range, it’s an extreme outlier. Why? No idea.

They're trying to blame DeSantis' policies.

I think they cherry picked a timeline that includes the second wave in FL and the south east, but is already after the second wave in most other states.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

If you cherry picked well, you can get the data to say whatever you want.

So maybe he should have spent more time on Covid policies to reduce adverse outcomes rather than boast about his states metrics and their freedoms.

Or maybe we should stop cherry picking data and using it to attack political opponents for daring to not buy into all the hype.

Your biggest issue is the start date. What would you suggest as a start date to show vaccination compared to deaths? April 1? June 1? March 15? I’d  be happy to reproduce the graph for you.

Hype - Masks work
Hype - SD works
Hype - Mandates work
Hype - Vaccines work
If you would stop making it political and face the facts, then more lives would be saved!!!

Where do you see that in the chart that he's not doing that? The only thing I know about Florida is that they were denied monoclonal antibodies by Biden, and that their average age is higher than normal.

Are you referring to the September 2021 return of Original Allocation (instituted by Trump, btw) based on case and hospitalization metrics in response to demand outstripping supply?  Would you prefer that the antibody treatments go exclusively to the highest bidding state?

Or, are you referring to the more recent nationwide pause on allocating specific antibody treatments shown to be ineffective against Omicron? Would you prefer that FL treat people ineffectively against Omicron?

You're trying to make it sound like FL is trying its best to save lives, but the federal government is not letting them, when that cannot be further from the truth.

Everything is looked at through the same stupid lens. When will you notice that masks have never worked, when will you notice that the CDC has become a corrupted organization, when will you notice that lockdowns can't work for society as the depression rates show https://www.bu.edu/articles/2021/depression-rates-tripled-when-pandemic-first-hit/
How many years with Covid will it take you to realize you just got to live with it?

Talk about stupidity and the worse strawman argument ever. What does depression have to do with the four things I listed?

Since your reading comprehension is around zero, here is the main reasons for depression according to the article:
low household income
not being married
job loss
death of a loved one due to COVID
financial problems
feeling alone
lack of childcare

You're trying to make it sound like FL is trying its best to save lives, but the federal government is not letting them, when that cannot be further from the truth.

I’m not doing anything. You’re misreading a chart and claim Florida is worse at dealing with COVID than other states without literally any data to back it. Can you answer this - what is deaths on the chart - COVID deaths or all purpose deaths? Is the data age adjusted? If you don’t have answers for those 2 questions, there is no usable data to prove any point about Florida.

But let’s ignore the data for a second, and try to understand why you expect Florida to perform poorly. Since April 19, 2021, what has Florida done worse than 49 states that would explain a higher death rate? Vaccines? Middle of the pack. COVID restrictions? Same as many other states. Terrible health care system or treatment? Haven’t seen news of that. All I’ve seen from Florida is that they are willing to do anything to treat COVID, which we haven’t seen from every state unfortunately.

So please share your nuggets of why you assume Florida should perform poorly?

If that is all you have seen from FL then by your own admission you have not seen anything from FL to help not getting covid in the first place. Or you have not seen them do anything to lessen the strain on hospitals. Or you have not seen them giving you the best chance for survival.
