Bookmark that and remember it for the next election. In today's day and age it is rare (to be mild) to find a politician that is a principled leader with a backbone (maybe Bernie Sanders is). So you really need to pay attention to who the politician is surrounding himself with (and there will be lots of chaff there too).

Even Bibi Netanyahu, who is head and shoulders above most world leaders and politicians has his shortcomings. The strongest, and most focused one that I can think of right now on the world scene is probably Putin (and we know what happens to whoever starts up with him). Maybe also Xi Jinping.
Wow lots of love for the dictators.

You are considering those who are out for personal power to be principled?

How likely the “deal” with Taliban would’ve been upheld with 0 recourse action possible, is up for discussion.

Speaking of presidents tweeting offensive crap

Can you imagine if Trump would've tweeted this after tens of thousands of dead Afghani soldiers?

Trump would have already been impeached for this mess of a pullout.

Wow lots of love for the dictators.

Have you heard Shimon Dzigan's explanation about the difference between a dictatorship and a democracy?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Freedom has a price. Are we better off not being there at all? Does Al Qaeda make a strong comeback now?

I don't know the answers, this is a situation where I hope our military experts know what to do and give proper guidance to the WH.

Are we better off not being there? To me it depends - if the status quo would remain indefinitely, then IMHO you have to pull out eventually. We can't run every terrorist country, otherwise why not invade half the world in the name of freedom? Every decision has a cost. We lost more soldiers in the war than we did in 9/11.

What is the right time and correct strategy, again, above my paygrade, though it seemed like Biden did not follow any strategy at all.

Biden's speechwriters deserve a raise. To take such a mess and make it sound so beautiful - it takes special talent.
@Joe Biden.
Awful speech. I want what he's smoking.

The status quo was something we should've had no problem with even if it lasted another 30 years. There hasn't been a single US death in Afghanistan in 18 months.

If the status quo would've held up so long is something I can't answer, but to me that seems like Biden using it as an excuse for taking a relatively stable country and turning it into chaos.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

This joke?

The notion that we would see these horrific scenes if Biden doesn't prematurely close Bagram Airfield without evacuating people is preposterous!
https://twitter.com/georgeminde2/status/1427887940458450945

Do you really think Biden is the one who made the tactical plan of closing Bagram and using KBL?

Trump deserves credit for the development and Biden for the rollout.
Trump deserves credit for the development and Biden for not botching Trump's plans for the rollout.
