Is it worth it?
« on: August 19, 2021, 02:50:51 PM »
I have a 40K bill to pay to the caterer for my sons wedding. Was shut down by chase and amex long ago, however I do have a chase united card. I have some AA citibank cards, Capital One Venture cards and Jet Blue Barclay. Does it make sense to charge the bill with a 3% fee? Thanks

Wouldn’t be worth it just for earned points maybe with a high sign up bonus plus hitting spending requirements maybe the Hyatt card you would hit top tier status plus the free nights and points

If you opened a bunch of cards and can split amongs those cards and knock a bunch of hurdles I think it could be worth it otherwise I don't see it

Find somebody who has a card that earns 3x on dining, put it on their card and pay 96.5%.

That would depend on the merchant’s (or merchants’?) MCC code(s). Not sure caterers count as dining.

Caterer doesn't count as dining for Chase.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Would caterer count as restaurant on amex? The new platinum offer would get you 250k MR plus minimum 100k MR sign up bonus.

Or if your caterer is a small business on amex
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

A bit presumptuous.
