Right, but given that they were looking for it, makes it less likely that there's some special story behind it. Still weird though, I'd love to have been in that conversation when they decided to include a "hasidic" kid in their diversity buzzword bingo game.

Yes, but that means that they davka wanted a chassidik kid. Why chassidik ("ultimate" Jewish to secular people because of the outward signs) as opposed to other ethnicities?

I'm pretty sure the kid was a random student in TDSA (Torah Day School of Atlanta). Apparently they needed a Jewish kid so they went to the local Jewish day school (it was filmed in Atlanta...). I think they dressed him up chassidish so he was more noticeably Jewish.

I actually just copied and pasted that from an email I sent my friend when I noticed it. It's pretty close, and it didn't seem worthwhile at the time to go back and confirm it was accurate to the second.

In the 9/11 tribute before the Jets game just now there was a scene of 3 yeshiva bochurim wearing hats and jackets swaying before the 9/11 monument in NYC.
