Back on topic, did anyone do keren hasvhiis last cycle and still have the shtar? I did it last time and wanted to go back and read the shtar they sent, but I can't seem to find it. I recall the 'minimum' was a lower last time - maybe 4x4 amos instead of the 100sq ft, with a lower contribution/price to match.

Can someone explain to me why Jeter mechira by shmita is different by chometz?

I remember hearing in the name of one of the Gedolim from that time, that you have to look what the Torah wants from you: By Chometz the Torah wants you not to have Chometz - so by selling your Chometz it is no longer yours. By Shmitah on the other hand - the Torah wants you to rest - by not working the land that is in your possession.

It's a big discussion whether you accomplish anything by "buying" land

Though IIRC I once saw something from R' Mordechai Eliyahu who said that in a certain way everyone in EY is relying on it, because if the פירות have קדושת שביעית then when selling them (which would be forbidden) the קדושה would extend to the מעות, creating a huge problem.

Since the Rabbanut allows heter mechira, lots of produce is grown and sold based on it. Once it is sold, the מעות, would acquire קדושת שביעית, and when in circulation it would by extension create a problem for many.

Those were my thoughts too. However what would be the din of קנין בשטר which is technically what is happening with electronic payments?
