Searching For Specific Challah Knife
« on: September 02, 2021, 04:38:16 PM »
I used to have a wonderful challah knife, whose handle looked like a miniature challah. It disappeared a while ago, and of course I can't find a picture of it. I got it at Flohr's in BP maybe 14 years ago, but they're long gone.

Has anyone ever seen such a knife, or may have an idea of where to find it? It's basically un-Googleable... "challah challah knife" doesn't exactly work.

I've had no luck so far, going through pages and pages of Google image results and basically all the knives available on online judaica stores.

Any ideas?

Good luck. Many times smaller manufacturers of such items or their designs change every few years.

That one is $275. Might want to hire someone to cut your bread before buying that ;D

It’s listed on Tiffany’s website at $275 (not available for purchase at this time), considering the brand, it might be an old style that’s priced like it’s 1992.

I have one of those that you are talking about. We rarely use it because my AC usually makes pull apart challah. BN will post a picture tonight.

Most likely a wedding gift, but will ask my AC when I get home.

(yes I know that you should not give a knife as a wedding gift, but that does not mean you turn one down :)

I use a large Cutco knife, works like a charm. Especially on sourdough.

This was is also great:

Unless you fell in love with the unique challah handle, I'm sure there's other good knifes as well. Icel shabbos knifes are very good ime and sharpens excellently.

Definitely fell in love with that handle. The blade was actually terrible, but totally worth it.

Is this it? The knife has not been polished in some time (because my AC makes pull apart challah), but it is silver.
