How Exactly does Citi count their 24 Month Sign up Bonus Rule
« on: September 23, 2021, 05:09:47 PM »
I would like to get the Citi Premier 80K bonus and am trying to determine when I will become eligible.

Here is my situation:

-Rewards+ Card opened 9/17/19
-Rewards+ Sign Up Bonus posted to my TYP account at some point in the next 3 months. I don't have the exact date...so lets say 11/15/19 for now.

-Premier Card closed on 10/4/19

Questions:

1) Should I be counting 24 months from 11/15 or 10/4?
2) How does Citi count their 24 month clock? For example, is it exactly 730 days (365 days in a year X two)?

For reference here is the language from the Citi website: "Bonus ThankYou Points are not available if you received a new cardmember bonus for Citi Rewards+®, Citi ThankYou® Preferred, Citi ThankYou® Premier/Citi Premier® or Citi Prestige®, or if you have closed any of these accounts, in the past 24 months."

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Aa while back I product changed a Citi Simplicity card into a Rewards+ card.

I didn't use it enough and Citi closed the account due to lack of use. despite my best efforts I couldn't get them to reopen it.

my understanding is i now have to wait 24 months from when Citi closed my Rewards+ card, if anyone has DP's either confirming or disputing this assumption I would love to hear it?

TIA :D

I don't have personal experience with this exact scenario but I think your assumption is correct (meaning that you need to wait 24 months from when they closed your acct.)

is there any way to check if I am eligible?
(either way I don't know exactly when they closed the card)

Check Credit Karma for the close date.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
