I just want to rip out my hair.
I had a pixel 3xl which took much abuse over 2.5 years.
Screen cracked, wifi didn't work etc but hey it did the job. Till Wednesday night after first days of sukot, it just froze while using it.
Multiple troubleshooting determined that the device would function in airplane mode.
I went and purchased a new pixel 5a from Google, paid the warranty, bought a case... Researched but didn't buy the screen protector.
Phone came last week shabbat, activated Saturday night and dropped just once today and boom the screen cracked and doesn't function.
Besides for this being one of the most poorly made devices, i contacted Google who refused to help, passing me off to Assurant.
I tried to file a claim noting that Google pixel 5a screen repair is $69. I saw that uBreakiFix is Assurant authorized, I made an appointment at uBreakiFix.
Attempted to file a claim at Assurant but the only option given is $99 to replace phone.
I chatted with a rep who attempted to file a claim and notified me that repair isn't an option, only replacement. When pressed, he stated "we cannot tell you, that's what the system decided" saying maybe there are no authorized repair places near me, which I showed him to be untrue.
I paid $100 because I have no choice, I'm traveling Sunday night.
Supposedly they will overnight replacement but who knows, I cannot access my new old phone to copy anything or hard reset.
Not only that but my claim was inserted wrong by the agent;

My sim card was in, no liquid was involved just a tiled floor.
As a last resort I had a friend call uBreakiFix who can't find a claim number.
I am beyond furious at this level of incompetent garbage and the worst customer service known to humanity.
All I ever f**** wanted was someone to authorize me to take the damn thing into their authorized store and try to fix the damn screen for a warranty that I paid for!!
