This looks like it is meant for sewer backups:

Be very careful with these products unless you want to replace your basement floor when the pipe cracks.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Are you saying that the product works so well that you have to worry that the pipe might crack? ;)

What about just putting some big plastic storage bins next to the tub to catch spills? Not perfect but simple

They may just become another bath toy... leading to even more floods!
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

What I am saying is I have seen 5k+ repairs from those who sealed their drain.

How close was the closest drain? If this is right by the tub, it shouldn't be an issue.

I would not be so sure. You have the pressure going through 1 1/4 (1 1/2) inch pipe instead a 4 inch pipe.
A stand off pipe is the way to go but except a volcano with the initial surge.  :)

Just following up i am very happy with my decision to put in the linear drain.

It just happens that my next door neighbor sprinkler went off and I had the least amount of damage since I was able to push all the water into the drain.
My other neighbors the water had nowhere to go.
Money talks...mine says goodbye!

do you ever have to deal with unpleasant odors coming up from the drain?
