Any recommendations for dishwashers?
« on: October 02, 2021, 10:05:33 PM »
Have a Kenmore Elite and DW loves it but time for a new one. Problem is I have about 1k in BB rewards and they don't carry Kenmore.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

It is probably the same as a whirlpool or Maytag model

Even if they they are from the same company they are made to different specs.
Kenmore is made by Whirlpool.

There should be one that is very similar. Maytag is also the same company

To clarify, Kenmore is it's own thing. They don't manufacture anything though - their appliances are made by Whirlpool, LG, Electrolux, Panasonic, etc depending on the specific appliance type and/or model. Whirlpool is a manufacturer and they have several of their own brand names that include Maytag, Kitchenaid, Amana, etc.

I have Bosch and I am NOT happy with it. Always had an issue with dishes drying properly.

Interesting. I am very happy with mine (also the previous version I had in my old house).

I do like the fact that it has a third rack, for silverware. But I had an issue with the drying. It got better after I switched the soap and rinse aid, but still have an issue from time to time. Not something that would make me return it, but I would still avoid it next time I need one.

A few of my neighbors have the exact same issue. They love it except for drying. All plastic items are always wet.

AFAIK Bosch has no heated drying option.

Have it narrowed down to KitchenAid or Whirlpool.  :)

Interesting. I never use a rinse aid, just detergent, and it always works fine.

I guess I don't use it for plastic so I don't have that issue.
AFAIK Bosch has no heated drying option.

The dishes are very hot when the load is done, bit that can be from the washing. I usually take them out the next morning and they're definitely dry then.

Some soaps include it

Plastic is where you need the heated dry

I still use our 1st dishwasher so I cant compare to other brands, but we have 2 whirlpools and we BH never had an issue, (except when a plastic melted on the heating coil, or when the water source was shut when we moved in so it wasn't washing)

That is how testing is done for drying.

Bosch heats the rinse water.

specs of dishwashers are pretty much universal, besides for some of the European which are about 1/2" narrower so depending on your style kitchen the 1/2" can be visible.

I know several instances where people got two dishwashers and spend more on their meat/main dishwasher and end up being happier with cheap on overtime.

Supposedly in the bosch 800 model the drying is better
