Evernote Alternative
« on: February 08, 2024, 11:38:48 AM »
When an app you've used for years (if not decades) makes your blood pressure rise every time you use it, it's time to get rid of it.

Incessant upgrade pop ups which take 2, 3, sometimes 4 clicks to get rid of, constant buggy "too many device" forced logouts, and - for heaven's sake - the annoying-as-hell "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO GO TO THE LINK YOU JUST CLICKED ON, O INFANT OF MINE?" interstitials..... screw you.

/rant

So... any recommendations for a simple note-taking, cross-platform app? I don't need any fancy collaboration, AI, or whatever else them young kids like these days. Just plain text notes, lists, and links.

+1
Unless you are doing high powered note taking, keep is nice and straightforward.

Notion seems like the go to for high powered note taking

I keep copies of IDs, Passports, etc. in Evernote. Anything decent to migrate to?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

hmm then maybe Notion? Or any of the EN alternatives suggested all over reddit. You can also now put images into Workflowy if you don't mind them stored kind of in a list vs a folder.

Not trying to load more onto Google storage.
If it's because of your storage limit just use Google photos, at storage saver quality.
