I created a word template but now want to make some minor changes. Is there any way for me to edit the template and keep it that way? Because when I open the file from the office templates folder it opens as if I want to create a new doc using that template, but doesn't actually save the changes on the original.
TIA

That would create a new template. I want to know if there's a way to amend the original one.

Try opening with right click open instead of double click

It may have been posted before, so sorry if it's a repost, but I stumbled upon an excellent excel training online course where you can watch (officially) up to four free videos daily.
http://excelcentral.com/excel2013/essential/tutorials/default.html

This is on both a beginners and expert levels.

He does have a very strong English accent but that's something you can easily get used to. Also, I found that he talks a bit slow but took care of that in the settings where you can choose a desired playback speed.

Note to self: before spending a half hour trying to figure out why a formula field is not working, right click and click "Update Field".

I guess I'm used to Excel being instant!

anyone know how I could do an email mail merge with a header/footer? When I do it, the header/footer disappears. Alternatively, maybe I could attach a document (PDF preferred) to a mail merge?

Twice in the last month I've opened Excel documents that I've created, and this warning came up - "Office has detected a problem with this file. Editing it may harm your computer. Click for more details."

Microsoft explains the reason for this warning like this - "File validation failure    When you see a message in Protected View that says Office has detected a problem with this file. Editing it may harm your computer. Click for more details., the file didn’t pass file validation."

Why would this happen, do I have a virus?

In outlook, I want to use checkmarks windings, but I want the checkmarks to be formatted color red.
Is there anyway to do this besides manually formatting each checkmark?

I basically only use Microsoft Word for Hebrew. I would like to make the default typing language to be Hebrew just for Word, (or even for the whole Microsoft Office). I am having trouble doing that. Is there a way?
Thanks

Set the default editing language in Office

Open a Microsoft Office program, such as Word.

Click File > Options > Language.

In the Set the Office Language Preferences dialog box, under Choose Editing Languages, select the editing language that you want to use, click the name of the language that you want to be the default language, click Set as Default.

After you change the default editing language, you need to close all your Office programs, and then open them again for the change to take effect.

NOTES

If for some reason, your default display or Help language is not available, Microsoft Office uses the next language in the list that is available.

If the language that you want is not listed, you might need to add more language services by clicking Add additional Editing Languages.

I did that and only when I open an existing document it defaults to Hebrew. But when I open a new document it doesn't
