Office 2010, which the installer offered to remove, and possibly also a free trial of 365? (it's a fairly new laptop)
That prompt is referencing Office 365. Go to "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" and uninstall the free trial.

Is there a way to set up Outlook (2010) to sync with gmail but only pull in Primary emails? (As opposed to Promotions, Updates....)

New laptop, trying to install Excel. They want me to buy office 365. How can I get around that? I only need Excel and I don't want to pay.

Excel is a program that costs money, either with a subscription via Office 365 or buying the program outright for about 120 or so.

If you want something similar for free you can try one of the Microsoft Office free alternatives. In my opinion the best one is WPS office, which is free just giving you an ad when you open the program. WPS site is here https://www.wps.com/download

Didn't realize that. Thanks. I have Excel documents from work that I need to constantly edit so I'm assuming I would have to pay for it..

WPS opens all Excel documents without a hiccup, and can do almost everything Excel does. The layout is also very familiar. Personally I have Excel installed but at work I've once installed WPS and I'm using it most of the times.

Don't know if you wanna go this route, but if you have Excel installed on your computer at work, you might be able to get the license key (which is stored on the computer) and install it on your laptop.

Let me know if you want more info.

I have two laptops. One, which is my primary use which is running Office 2013, and another, secondary pc, running Office 365. For a few reasons I would like to switch the two. Main reason is that I wouldn't mind having Office 365 on my primary computer, while the secondary, which is mainly used by family members, can use the older version of things. Even more, the family members using the 365 have no connection to the internet, and every couple weeks it shuts down on them, and then they have to wait until the next time they meet me to update, and connect back to my account. This also involves a loooooong wait time for TAG to disable the filter etc. My Office 2013 shouldn't give them these problems.

I was wondering whether there's any way to change without me using up another license on my 2013. I got the Office 365 for free from college. I have since tried to install it also on my primary, but it doesn't work (probably cuz I already graduated that college). So I wanted to move it from my secondary to my primary.

TIA

Why not bring both up to 2016 which does not require an active Internet connection (except for the initial setup and activation) and you'll both be on the latest version.

You can get a license for a couple of bucks on ebay but you would need 2 so at most you'll be out about $15
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

My understanding was that Office 365 is latest, as it is something that keeps getting updated. Am I wrong?

He tells you to drop the 365 that you cannot install anymore, and instead get two normal 2016 full office licenses on eBay for a few bucks.

Are those reliable? Do I not have to be afraid of getting a used/invalid key?

I purchased 2 keys on eBay, seller advised to activate within 3 days but it didn't even work within an hour. I went back but seller was suspended... Interesting the seller came back next day and gave me 2 new codes and they worked
