Bob Menendez will resign effective August 20. That means that Murphy will be able to put in a Senator for a few months. Will he put in his wife? Will he put in Andy Kim, and give Kim a few months of seniority over the new senators? Or will it be someone else?

His wife said she doesn’t want to take the position, from what I’ve heard.

How does that affect the upcoming election?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

This is what Matt Friedman wrote about this in his Playbook just this morning: https://www.politico.com/newsletters/newjerseyplaybook

What’s the scoop on the senate race, I haven’t been following.

Why hasn’t the Lakewood vaad endorsed a candidate?

They probably don't expect to make a difference, aren't keen on endorsing the D candidate, and neither candidate is incumbent.

Check out what he wrote about Sean Kean

I also find it interesting that Scnall himself isn't on the list - I would've assumed that he is pretty vulnerable. You think Lakewood could turn out the same numbers as last time?

I presume that some of the fear mongering against him will fall flat.

Voting is currently scheduled for Shavuos

Joint Statement from Governor Murphy, Senate President Scutari, and Speaker Coughlin

"The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy and everyone deserves the freedom to have their voice heard at the ballot box. We have an obligation to encourage participation and ensure everyone can participate in and trust our electoral system. We cannot allow deeply held and legitimate religious beliefs to become a barrier to voting. We support moving the 2025 primary to June 10 and will work together to accomplish that goal."
