They have their own agenda. I’ve read articles suggesting, and it makes a lot of sense, that even if you delivered sufficient doses to Africa tomorrow, you wouldn’t have staff/logistics in place to get even half the continent’s population vaccinated.

Understood, but why are they pushing for a 4th booster shot beyond the 3rd initial booster which would have been 6 months after the initial 2 shots?

Are those that never got vacinated going to miss the train? Are the rules going to be you need 6 months from the 2nd to the 3rd and 6 months to the 4th etc. With those never vacinated never getting a chance to catch up - hence never "Fully vacinated"!

There’ll be an amnesty at the 10th dose, where you take 6 at once and catch up

If I still have robust antibodies at that time I'll take it if needed for travel etc. Otherwise not.

Urgent cares are too slammed now to check antibodies and for the fraction of a chance of catching omicron. Bh made easier by not having any side effects from any of the 2 (3rd as well bh) doses and the flu shot.

Antibodies won’t definitively protect you from getting infected, nor will a booster.

Did you have any antibodies left from the prior infection or was it all vaccine related? Did the vaccine "ruin" the previous antibodies?

There actually was a study in the Netherlands that seemed to imply something like that about the boosters. Not vouching for it as I have no info about their bias or lack thereof.


Israel seemed to stop the rollout of the 4th booster for reasons that seemed to imply this as well, but again, I don't have much clarity on that.

ETA: It was a Danish study. Here it is. Make of it as you wish.

Just wondering did you ever test for antibodies prior to getting the vaccine? If yes where was it up to? and how long ago? There's no doubt antibodies from a prior infection wane without a vaccine as I know people who recently got reinfected without a vaccine...would love to test myself for some updated antibody levels - just the lines at these places.

I took a different test before vaccinating, and it was probably too soon. It was approximately 2 weeks after infection and I my result was 3.17 where 1 is positive, not sure what result would be considered high on that specific test.
