I'm not halfways towards being eligible and the State of NJ notifies me every two weeks by text that I *may* be eligible and I can get it in any pharmacy, etc.

ETA: my mind played tricks with me. This is what it really said:

It is no big deal. When I had hip replacement they gave me a bottle of Norco. I used 2 the first night just to sleep and that was it.

Is it just me or is it clear as day how Pfizer is trying to structure/present studies to drive a narrative that promotes a booster shot?

Maybe I’m colored by all the vaccine-skepticism (or worse) around me, but this seems like a disgusting money grab on their part, where the data isn’t necessarily there at all.

Theres something I dont really understand, maybe someone wiser or more knowledgeable ( @biobook ? ) can explain it to me. IIUC the booster is the same as the first two shots, except that the they found the efficacy decreases over time, hence the need for a booster. So how on earth could Pfizer say that 3 shots is effective vs. omicron and not two, wouldn't someone who recently had the two have the exact same protection as someone who had 3??

The antibodies are the same, and the antibodies soon after first two doses likely offer the exact same protection. But immunity wanes so a booster “may”/“could” (qualifying words used in the Pfizer quotes on the article) offer you better protection against Omricon (“any level of disease”, which to me reads as not necessarily better protection against infection), but in reality to me it sounds like boosters might not even be necessary, or nearly as helpful as vaccinating the unvaccinated/unrecovered population.
