One thing I've always wondered about - on window shades they put a warning on the string to keep it high off the ground and away from children, and then in case the children don't know how to strangle themselves they put a diagram on it to teach them.
I'm not who you think I am.

Some of the things they never get bored of are building toys. LEGO, magnatiles, clicks, playstix etc.  Ages 3-8.
Did you just say Legos till 8 years of age?!

If you're tight on space, instead of an exersaucer, get a doorway jumper.

Card games starting at 5,6 years old. Especially to play with the older ones when the younger ones have gone to bed.
Uno, Spot it! - easiest, youngest children
Phase 10, Skip-Bo - all the way up

Meh and how would it be wise than them flopping around in an exersaucer?

you need the ducks without the blowhole

Any recommendations for a mat with streets on it that is highly detailed and engaging for older kids (5-8)? JJ posted one on DDMS today but it seems to be really childish.

Ikea has a couple (carpet style) that are very well priced

Thanks, but I'm specifically looking for one with more streets and details. Something that can be used with matchbox/HotWheels and not get boring after 10 minutes of play.
