does anyone have a template/draft of interview questions for their parents? my parents are also getting older and would love to have them tell over about their life
I don't have questions, but the setting is important. As physically and emotionally comfortable, melave malka is great.
Questions should be open ended. Rather than ask what color the sky was, ask them to describe the scene. Then after they say, "the sky was blue, it was sunny and warm, " you can say "can you talk more about how the weather made you feel."
Iow, "what was your uncle's name, and when did he visit?" the answer is "Yaakov, every sukkos". But "what was the feeling in your house when your uncle came?" will get more of a "we were always so excited before sukkos because it meant uncle Yaakov was coming. He brought these toys and tchachkes because he used to sell those on Amazon back in the day."
