Baha Mar in Bahamas Over Shabbos Without Eruv
« on: October 25, 2021, 04:56:59 PM »
I'm considering spending a week at the Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas with a toddler. Since there is no eruv, we'll essentially be stuck indoors for all Shabbos. Are there any/enough indoor activities accessible directly from the guest rooms without leaving the building to keep busy for a day, such as aquariums, play rooms, etc..? I imagine that the hotel must have something to do for rainy days? Thanks.

some poskim say you would need an eruv chatzeiros. Good thing R' Moshe held you don't.
my point was, that it is in fact a sheila.

I know that it's an interesting academic question, but I think that most authorities agree that the hotel and guest rooms are one single domain since: (i) the hotel retains the right to enter the guest rooms at all times, and (ii) all the furniture, electronics, and other property in the guest rooms belongs to the hotel.

But anyway, ever stay at the Baha Mar? ;)

Indoor activities bring along with them all of the potential questions of motion sensors etc. depending on the facts on the ground. A big question is whether or not anyone actually checked into that already.
Feelings don't care about your facts

True, but that's getting around the hotel in general--activities or not. I know that Chabad is having shabbos (and weekday) minyanim and also meals, so I imagine that there will be some solution to the sensors issue.
