Most properties that I checked won’t necessarily be more expensive
CIIW, but this is how I see it: Medium category properties are less likely to be more expensive as they weren't such a great Pts:$ value to begin with. It's the properties that the owners charge a higher $ price but Marriott considers a lower category (like most Residence Inns) that are more likely to be more expensive in points after the change.
And also some of the higher end ones, that people
chapped for a good rate:
Aspiratonal Marriott properties will surely become unaffordable when using points.
