U.S. Consumer Platinum Card Members may receive up to a total of $200 in statement credits each calendar year, across all Cards on the Account, when using their eligible Platinum Card on eligible, prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection bookings made through American Express Travel (meaning through amextravel.com, the Amex® App, or by calling the phone number on the back of your eligible Platinum Card).

To receive the statement credits, an eligible Card Member must make a new booking using their eligible Platinum Card through American Express Travel that is prepaid (referred to as “Pay Now” on amextravel.com and the Amex App), for a qualifying stay at an available, participating Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection property.

Bookings of The Hotel Collection require a minimum stay of two consecutive nights. Eligible bookings must be made before December 31st, 11:59PM Central Time, each calendar year to be eligible for statement credits within that year. Statement credits may not be received or may be reversed if the booking is cancelled or modified.

Can someone please explain the general process of how these should be booked if bought to get the $100 hotel credit that comes with FHR? Do you need to have the physical card in hand to charge as an incident for the restaurant/resort credit or how does that work? Of course the hotel itself for the $200 credit to activate can be done via booking online.
I've received a quite few PMs regarding this so I'll try to explain the way this works. When booking an FHR night, one must select prepaid stay so the hotel will be already paid for upon arrival up to $200. Of course there are taxes, resort fees, valet parking, etc., and that is extra. The $100 incidental credit is per property, per stay. The hotel will credit $100 when charged to room. There is no requirement to show Platinum card upon arrival in order to qualify for neither credits. One MUST provide a CC upon arrival and that CC will be charged in excess of $100. In the nutshell: $200 will be prepaid and up to $100 incidentals reimbursed when changes to a room. Any extra charges will be charged onto a CC provided upon check-in. Night cannot be combined (ex: one night stay at $400 rate cannot be split between two CC for $400 total). Consecutive nights can be booked at the same property as individual (separate) bookings and one will be forced to check-out and check back in nightly (sometimes checked-in into a different room).

The Wiki is not 100% clear so I added these thoughts, not sure I can update a WIKI

1) The FHR (Fine Hotels & Resorts) does NOT have a min stay - so you can use the full 200 credit for a single day
2) The 100 dollar amenities that people are also "throwing in" ONLY happen with the THC (The Hotel Collection) program, not all hotels overlap with THC and FHR - ALSO, and why I am posting here, the THC requires TWO days min stay, again FYI!

Yeah FHR does come with a $100 experience credit. However, you are correct in that no one is "throwing this in." Rates booked through FHR are typically a bit more expensive and so you are already paying a premium. The fundamental deal people are offering is the $50 for $200 off. That's all.

Actually, all FHR hotels come with some form of location-specific experience credit.  Sometimes, that is $100 of property credit(Watergate hotel in DC).  Sometimes it's something much less useful, like a free private car ride to the airport(Jefferson Hotel, Richmond).  It all depends on the hotel; it does *not* depend on the card you are using.
