Any DP on using the rental credit for a $200 airbnb gift card?

I’m sure it has been asked before,but I tried searching and couldn’t find it. If I book a hotel via cap1 travel then use points to “pay” myself back and subsequently cancel the booking, will I get back the points or a statement credit or other? Thanks and sorry for what I’m sure is a repeat question.

I have used points to pay myself back on already cancelled bookings. It seems to me that the pay yourself back is completely separate from the booking so I would assume they would refund your booking however it is usually refunded. (Convenient way to cash out points at 1 cent is by making a dummy booking, cancelling, and paying yourself back with points...)

Book a $300 JetBlue (non basic) ticket and then cancel it for a JB travel credit valid for 1 year.
Or anything similar to this should work

I don’t see JetBlue on cap1 travel. Do they have JetBlue?
How long do I need to wait till I can cancel?
Is there any way to get real cash not just credit?

I would always operate under the assumption that selling points is going to be against the T&C of any big bank. Especially because Capital One has somewhat of a reputation of playing hardball and giving people a hard time about various things.

Of course depending on your risk tolerance you could do it anyways... But you should go into it eyes wide open that it may not have a happy ending

I spent on AU and got the credit (once it happened I couldn't believe I didn't think earlier to be scared it wouldn't post)
