Just applied for a 3rd time in the last 2 years and got declined. I have great credit and a checking and quicksilver card with them. Their recon department doesn’t exist.

Is that the norm for a claim with my VentureX, that they want you to buy a replacement for the item your filing for.
 Clothing i bought was defective, bought it from another country, opened a claim for under $100. they called to tell me i need to buy a replacement comparable to the item I'm claiming to get the money back for it.
  Didn't think you would need to busy buying other clothing in place, to be reimbursed up to the original dollar amount.

I have had this with both chase and amex with extended warranty that I needed to provide a receipt for the replacement.

Nothing. I bought tickets earlier this year and then cancelled them within 24 hours. The credit still posted (after I was refunded) and was never clawed back.

How do I go about submitting a phone insurance claim on the Venture X. Do I need to repair the phone through them or can I repair it and submit for compensation? (I have a really cracked screen)

"phone insurance claim" I called them and they sent me the forms to fill out, I needed to get a repair quote from an official repair place. its through visa benefits services, you can see more info on there website.
