The account should pop up in your app. Once it does it should have the option.

No. IME it came in ten days after the AF posted. The 10k points only posted more than a month later

what happens if I book a flight using the annual $300 credit and then cancel the card before the flight date.  Can/will they try and claw that $300 credit back?

Keep in mind downgrade isn’t always an option
