yes. Obviously it will warm up faster in a shallow larger container/pan (5x7 works well) vs a standard 16/24/32oz container.

Does the hotlogic sense when there is something on it? I see everyone is using it on Shabbos, can I assume it’s just like a regular hot plate?

regular non adjustable hotplate. No sensor, no knobs, dials, controls, etc.
It's a removable hotplate inside an insulated bag

-Successfully used it in 220 countries.
-Successfully used a max on a plane, on an adapter charging my phone and laptop as well.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yes it flattens pretty well - it's a soft case.

The hot plate gets to around 150°F IIRC, and I've cooked raw food in it. Keep in mind that it will take significantly longer to cook, due to the low temp.

I don't travel that much, so I held off on buying, until the last BF sale, where I figured I'll get one for my office, for the odd occasion when I want to warm up something fleishig.

The other day I actually put it to first use, taking leftovers from home, sticking it in when I got to the office, and then having my meal a few hours later. I was blown away. Really amazing to be able to bring a meal in a plastic container, and have it perfectly hot on time to eat.

Looking at how it's constructed, it seems like it's a small hotplate and an insulated carrier, which got me thinking about whether there's a way to be allowed to use these as portable Shabbos hotplates (by leaving the top uncovered, to avoid הטמנה בדבר שמוסיף הבל). Did anybody try this? Will the food stay warm enough when the tote is left open/uncovered? @aygart Any Halachic insight on this?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Just don't zipper it. Works fine.

IIRC the way I came out was that it can be used with the cover open.

If you mean covered but not zippered then I don't understand  how this helps.

Which is where my other questions come. Does it work well uncovered?
