Another successful cholent using the hotlogic.
Made in 9x13, covered tightly with 2 sheets of foil and plugged in right before shabbos. Was delicious!
Total cooking time approx 20 hours.
ETA, this was on 110v grid power, not in an RV.
Cooked 20 minutes on a burner?

You mean the top of the 9x13 pan, not the whole pan, correct?

i used this on a road trip with an inverter.  i had two half size containers in the hot logic max, one with chicken and one rice and we had a nice hot kosher supper in the service area.  best investment.

You guys don't understand the wonders of this thing. I'm currently in a hotel room in a town in New Guinea, where there is not a single hotel or airbnb etc with an oven. Nada.

I'm literally serving a hot dinner - including a soup! - to a group of four out of two Hotlogics.

Hotlogic + Polar Bear = travel magic.

100%

I find that the only limitation is the hotel's willingness to store the bag in their freezer. To be fair I had faced any refusal but I've had complicated situations  ::)

Sure, why not?

Not ideal, but it'll do the trick.

Any reason these are more special than any of the many other options on Amazon?

Also I see they only make the max with a 110v version, any issue buying a converter to use in a car?

Don't make the mistake of getting a slightly cheaper one on Amazon. I bought a random one (with good reviews) from Amazon and it doesn't work on the plane.

Also, someone posted about one melting when using it on 220v. (It was also a random brand)

Proceed with caution but the hot logics seem to work for many people on 220v, myself included.

TL;DR It's worth getting the real deal :)
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

I finally bought one after the last ddms post/sale. (thx @Dan ).

Have to admit, can't believe it took me so long. On a recent 5+ hr flight in economy, plugged the hotlogic in, and had a whole hot buffet on the plane. Chicken skewers, shnitzle, potatoes, rice... my son never ate so well on a flight.

I just used them again over Shabbos without an inverter. No issues. Both sizes.

This is the type of device that can work seemingly fine on 220v until it doesn't. The problem is that when it doesn't it can c"v have disastrous results.

I hear. Leaving it unattended can have unintended consequences.

Exactly. This is what I don't get, you can get a great converter for like 30 bucks and can run two hotlogics off it. But no, rather risk burning down the place.
