Skipping last leg on AA, booking different destination

Booked a RT on AA from EWR-OGG through DFW, but don't want to fly back to EWR, want to fly to MIA. Booked separate AAdvantage tix from DFW-MIA for that day. Is this a problem with AA? Haven't done HC ticketing before. Will not have checked bags. Don't want AA to cancel everything when I don't board the DFW-EWR flight. TIA.

Don’t put your AAdvantage number on the Hawaii flight.

How about adding a middle initial to the name on ticket? Or if you have a middle initial, don’t include it.

You shouldn’t have an issue with security, regardless you’ll already be post security.

Ha, just had this issue today with United. I booked a flight from TLV-EWR-XXX and then another flight EWR-DCA which they cancelled.
