would anyone recommend a road trip in israel for the summer? basically, like 5 cities over 2.5 weeks with hotels/zimmer?
As I recommended or not? Or are you asking for suggestions and ideas?

Sheraton Tel Aviv vs. Renaissance Tel Aviv -- any suggestions/preferences?  Just for one night.  2 adults, 2 little kids (1 crib).

Hi! I have been reading the wiki and haven't found this answer yet.  What is people's recommendation? I am looking for a room for one night Aug. 10-11 either near the airport in TLV or near the museums in TLV. I am paying cash or would be willing to buy points off someone for that.  Someone recommended that I stay in Kfar Chabad and said that was closer to the airport. Are there any bed and breakfasts or motels there? How far is it from the airport? What is your recommendation?

Thanks!

We ended up going with Sheraton.  Hotel is fine - they upgraded us to a larger room which is really great with the 2 little kids - even though it's certainly dated and the pullout couch (which was an unexpected perk) is pretty old/dirty.  The service leaves much to be desired.  And after a weekend at the Waldorf, it makes the already mediocre service seem that much worse...

Also disappointing to pay 65 NIS per night for parking and no breakfast included on the award booking (breakfast is $22 for SPG members -- disappointed to pay although the breakfast is pretty great).

I'd say the 4 star ratings online are a .5 star too high.

Award stay options in jerusalem - waldorf and crowne plaza? Anywhere else?

Is a suite for a family of 6 bookable with points?

Or adjoining rooms?
You can always ask for adjoining rooms. We did that in the CP.
However, the CP is not in a good location. If I were you, I wouldn't limit myself to the 2 points options, and rather, choose s/t based on price, location, and amenities (room size, meals, pool, etc)

Search around and see what the prices are running and what your budget is.
Many ppl stay on King George street.
The Olive Tree and Grand Court hotels are close to the old city and usually has cheap'ish rates, but it's not in the 'touristy' area.
You may be best off w/ a AirBnb since you're with kids.

Ok, Gonna be in Jerusalem mid august for a week, including Shabbos. Any recommendations for nice facilities, but reasonable price wise. David Citadel, King David, Waldorf and Mamilla seem abit out of budget for the week stay. im hearing scary reports re the old Sheraton/Leonardo plaza. Any info on 1)Dan Panorma 2) Sheraton Leanardo plaza 3) Inbal- slightly out of budget as well- I hear its nice 4) crowne plaza- the price is scaring me 5) whats the deal with the prima hotels- seems very heimish. Any info would be appreciated, accomodations/facilities are important, food is secondary. thanx

Highly recommend opening a Citi Hilton card so you can spend Shabbos at the Waldorf.  Otherwise, Dan Panorama is fine/clean.  Rooms are kind of small.  We just stayed at the Inbal -- had a less-than-great stay for the price, but rooms are good size, and they're pretty good about upgrades.   As of early July, they were doing construction so lots of noise during the day, which may be helpful when asking for an upgrade.

Trying to put together a last minute trip for my parents next week in herziliya. Are there any mehadrin restaurants minyanim sepereate beaches?
There is a mehadrin restaurant in the marina called cafe cafe(dairy)-you can also send them down abt 15-20 minutes to the namal Tel Aviv where you have Lechem Basar (meat-Machpud) and a cafe cafe (Dairy-chasam sofer petach tikva).

There is a separate beach called chof mehadrin (sun, tue, thu-women;mon, wed, fri-men)

There is a small chabad shul in the Lagoona building (also located in the Marina abt 3 minute walk from the Ritz)-the concierge at the Ritz should know minyan times; There is also a chabad house located at :
215 Wingate st;  Herzliya Pituach
and the phone number of the Rabbi is: 0528697837 . There is also an ashkenaz shul, but I do not remember the details off hand.
