deciding between inbal and plaza (jlem) for pesach. inbal is rabbanut but i'm pretty comfortable with the mashgichim (though there is still this nagging feeling in the back of my head). anyone have suggestions between them? inbal would be cheaper, and i love that its right by gan ha paamon.
So it's between a nagging feeling in your head or a nagging feeling in your pocket.
Sounds like a typical conundrum.
Figured out which is nagging is more legitimate. There you'll have your answer.
Good luck.

As far as the Hotel goes, the Plaza is pretty bad IMHO. On the other hand the Inbal has won some international awards (I forgot which).

You can order mehadrin beforehand

There should be minyan at the Chabad house

I was at Bereishet a few weeks ago. The mashgiach pointed out what was mehadrin at breakfast -  rather limited. You can pre-ordrer mehadrin dinners. There is a yeshiva and shul with minyanim in town. The hotel had no minyan during the week but the front desk told me that they have on Shabbos. I guess it depends on the specific crowd.

so it looks like i am going to the leonardo plaza jlem. is it worth it to pay an extra $53 per night ($425 total) for a balcony room at the plaza, or will the window rooms be just as good/have more internal space? any other suggestions re choosing rooms?

I am currently at Leonardo Plaza. I wouldn't say it is bad at all.  For sure it is not the Waldorf. Both in terms of hard and soft product, it is average to above average.  The breakfast spread is very good. Service there excellent.  Again, not the sumptuous WA, but more than adequate.  The room is a little dated and needs some maintenance. I have a balcony which is nice -- could imagine being great in better weather. I can't compare to the nonbalcony rooms in terms of space. Depends how much time you plan on sitting out on mirpeset.  Seems kind of steep to me to pay >10% more for it.

Is it nice?
Depends what you call nice. Its far from luxurious and the exterior can use an immediate makeover. But its right on the water, they have a minyan and they serve mehadrin food.
