I have not been, but did look it up online, seems a nice hotel, and Mitzpe Ramon is pretty popular with Israelis.

Yeah the great pictures and very reasonable rates caught my eye (and I can use free hotels.com nights). Reviews online look good but if any DDFers have been, I’d love to hear about it.  :)

Looking to use my IHG  free night but i need a place that is close to a shacris minyan. Any ideas?
The only hotel that it's worth it to use at IMO is the IC Tel Aviv, otherwise the regular room rates or points rates are too cheap for it to be worthwhile.
If that doesn't work for you then you should consider selling it.

Which points are easiest to pick up and use for Jerusalem hotels? (It would seem IHG for Intercontinental.)
I am looking to use during a 3 week trip in Israel.
IHG is definitely a good option. There's a couple of Wyndham's too. And Marriott has a few hotels but just in the Tel Aviv/Herzliya neighborhood, and 1 in Zichron Yaakov.

ETA: Going to try to add a wiki of all the points hotels in Israel. Can't believe it hasn't been wikified yet!

Re Ramon Inn, Isrotel hotel in Mitzpe Ramon
I've stayed there for a few nights.
It's quite nice, but definitely takes second place to Bereshit (which is much more epensive). Note that it was orginally designed as an apartment block, which has advantages and disadvantages;
There are 4 floors , with no elevetors.
There are  many different types of rooms, some of which are great for families - up to 7 persons. there are very reasonable rates for these 3 room suites.
Public rooms are basic, but pleasant - and staff are good.
Food (if you eat rabanut) was very good - both breakfast and (especially) shabbat meals.

Note that hotel is close to the center of town. There are plenty of minyanim (shabbat and weekday) within a few minutes walk, including the (hesder) yeshiva. There are  also lots of activities to do in the area.

This is a repost of a question I posted on the "Marriott/SPG Merger Thread" but no one responded so I'm also posting here.  My issue seems like a merger/IT issue but maybe you have info that it's on purpose.  The Elma Arts Hotel comes up on Marriott and Design Hotels websites but always show no availability.

On the direct hotel website they show rooms and you can book them.  But that website doesn't reference Marriott at all or let me login to link it to my rewards number.
https://www.elma-hotel.com/

I'd prefer to use points for a room but I'd even be willing to possibly book a paid room if I at least earned points, status, etc.  Has anybody encountered this kind of thing either here?  Are they separating from the chain or getting around Marriott rules?

King Solomon Jerusalem?
They have a room off the dining room for about 30 people.
And a hall that can be split in 2.

Dont know about bringing your own food though.
I'm not who you think I am.

Assuming they are the same price (both reasonable), which hotel would be better: Herbert Samuel or The Orient?

The Orient is a league above.

Thanks!  That's what I thought but just wanted to double check.  Just booked for $276 a night for next Purim (yes, I know I'm a nut but it never hurts to book a refundable hotel, it has a $25 cancellation fee but I'm willing to chance that for this rate).  :)

Also, just FYI, I found this rate on Hotels.com (went there because I had some free nights to burn).  The Orient site itself is showing no rooms so if anyone else wants, they have on Hotels.com

Most have a hechsher, but you'll want to call the hotel to get updated information, as they can frequently change.

Is the crowne plaza in Jerusalem and Eilat still going through renovations?  Do you know when they will be done?
