I am traveling to Israel for the first time in August with my wife.

Based on the info from this site, we booked 3 nights at Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem at $365.  Thank you.

Now, I need to book 2 nights in Galilee area (8/23-8/25) and 3 nights in Tel Aviv (8/25-8/28).  Ideally in a comparable hotel in the $400 +/- range.

Can you give me recommendations where to stay in TLV and Galilee?

Thanks in advance.

I just finished a stay at the Crowne Plaza center city and it was absolutely amazing. They do have a shuttle to the beach for free. It is located right next to the Azreili mall and the Hashalom train station.

How did you get this price Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem at $365? Summer is peak and expensive, this property in May is over $500 a night.

The promo must have ended.  It was a rate that was offered to anybody as long as they were logged into their honors account (non-refundable).  I have no status as well.   It was posted on the Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem thread...

I’m the one that posted that WAJ deal. That particular deal is over but just keep checking back on the HHonors.com website and make sure you are logged in as they sometimes only offer member sales. Also try with the AAA rate as sometimes they can have random AAA deals.

On another note, I’ve just booked multiple nights at the Orient all different times (over Purim, in the summer right before my WAJ stay and over Hannukah) at REALLY low prices on www.hotels.com. I love hotels.com for non-points properties because you get one night free for every ten booked (and that includes bookings for anyone, made from your account, not just bookings for yourself) so I’ve actually used free nights for most of these Orient bookings. Prices are starting at $248 a night (non-refundable) and $276 for a refundable rate. Neither of these rates include breakfast and are for 2ppl per room.

These rates are WAY cheaper than the WAJ, King David, etc. on the same dates and I love that the Orient has both indoor and outdoor pools and is near First Station and the cool Emek Rafaim restaurants and shops.

@Proisrael thanks so much for posting about this option. I would never have otherwise considered it but with the convenient location for public transit and service to the beach it seems like it might be great.  How often does the shuttle to the beach run and is breakfast included for points bookings?

Hi,

Can anyone advise if the private pools in the Beresheet Hotel are fully private?

Thanks!

There is a real wall between pools but they are open on the other sides. The hotel is made up of a bunch of buildings. Some of the pools are facing areas nobody is likely to be but some are not as private.

I run small private tours to Israel and Europe. I like the Intercontinental IHG hotel in Tel Aviv. It's not cheap but the location is awesome. Tel Aviv has many hotels so you'll find something you like there I'm sure. Gallilee is a bit harder since there are not many western chain hotels. In fact, I usually have my groups stay in Haifa and we commute to the Galilee area for tourist sites.  I did see a recent review on a new hotel in that area that i have yet to use but might be worth checking out. https://monkeymiles.boardingarea.com/review-sea-galilee-hotel/?utm_source=BoardingArea&utm_medium=BoardingArea

A couple looking to go to a hotel for Shabbos just to get away from crowds. Any ideas?

- Must be less than 2 hours distance from Jerusalem

- Modestly priced (no Waldorf/Ritz prices), but not a dump; just somewhere decent.

- A pretty scenery would be great (e.g. dead sea, old city, but preferably something like the former)

- Minyan unnecessary

- Mehadrin Shabbos food a nice bonus but unnecessary

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

In terms of points hotels, Ramada Netanya is quite nice on the boardwalk, quiet beach, etc

Thank you! I should've mentioned, person doesn't have points/miles.
