yeah leo plaza clearest kashrus of a high levelish hotel in good location (but it ain't as nice as waldorf etc). i enjoyed my stay there alot.
in tsfas i love the Ruth hotel (was rimonim but switched to dan recently), but u should check with the mashgiach as they used to be good and tell u what to have and what not to have, though dunno with change.
just as an update at the Ruth, they hold heter mechirah generally, but new mashgiach was fine (a native english speaker unlike the rimonim breslover mashgiach) and pointed out which meats etc were mehadrin and which werent. place needs a real renovation (they acknowledged that at front desk) but its clean and the views and feel just cant be beat. plus a good $ value still (fri night dinner was like $40 a person, and now u can use e-dan points :))

if i am booking for an israeli, will he have to pay the 17 percent vat ? is it calculated by cash price ?  the sheraton in tlv is bookable for 60k marriot, but cash prices are $740, if paying 17% takes away a lot of the value...

No VAT on points bookings if that's what you're asking

Ritz wanted to charge for vat on points booking, said it's standard policy. For non tourists.

Chk'd with some TAs, and they haven't heard of that, so i'd advise pushing back.

Of course, I'm just telling you what they kept repeating, something like "we get paid by Marriott for points bookings, so we need to charge VAT on that."

I did keep pushing back eventually they took it off. But it definitely was standard policy. At others hotels I've not experienced that.

The hotel can tell you the most up to date status of their hechsher. 02-591-7777
And it's up to you whether you can eat there or not.

Don't think it was ever Mehadrin
