Im looking to stay in Jerusalem hotel 12/31/12 - 01/08/13 are there any hotels worth booking with points instead of cash? I have plenty of amex (not spg) and chase points.

Maybe look into the Crowne Plaza (Prioity Club) it's not the greatest value unless it's on pointbreaks but otherwise not really, sorry.

+1 My parents just stayed there and they loved it. I think they have the cc, which also gives one free night a year.

Hi,

I'm kind of new to writing on the forums..

I'm going next week to israel and i reserved an apt in Yerushalyim..

to make a long story short.. my flight got canceled by El Al... and after hearing "el al hachi babayit baolam" for about an hour.. they finally we able to get us onto a flight leaving a day earlier.

my issue is the apt we got is not available for the earlier day.. any suggestion on a decent priced hotel that we can stay for the first night?
all ideas are welcomed

Thanks!

Can someone help me finding a hotel for a weekend outside of Jerusalem?

I'm looking for something different then Kibbuts Lavi, Kinar or Nir Etsion (more luxurious), but still mehadrin.
I was considering Le Meridien but apparently their meat is not mehandrin, can anyone confirm?

Unsure of kashrus, but I heard that the Ramat Rachel is very nice.

The Ma'ale Hachamisha is also nice, but you need to chk into kashrus

maale hachamisha has a very good mashgiach/rav hamachshir and kashrus system...though only certain times of year all mehadrin ingredients are used...

rest of the year some is ok some is not...call and ask for rav charlap

Any deal recommendations for a Hotel/apartment in central Jerusalem. Preferably a place that isn't "too Jewish" (e.g. the Plaza), with accommodations for a couple + 4 children. Dates are 2/6/-217/2013

Please post here or PM with suggestions.

Within Jerusalem - any opinions on Dan Panorama vs Leonardo Plaza? (Please keep in mind that LP is around 40$ cheaper per night).

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was checking the Sheraton in TLV.
Chk out their extra charges.

Additional Charges
The charges noted below are for your information should you require a rollaway or crib during your stay. Restrictions or availability may apply to specific room types.
Extra Rollaway: No charge
Child Rollaway: USD 30.00 per rollaway/per night.
Crib: USD 0.01 per crib/per night.

And here is the Dead Sea.
Extra Rollaway: USD 80.00 per rollaway/per night.
Child Rollaway: USD 60.00 per rollaway/per night.
Crib: No charge

Strange. Especially the .01

+1 on the strangeness. Isn't it usually the child roll-away that's free?

LM by Dead Sea: Call the hotel and ask to speak to mashgiach. I was told meat is not good and dairy ok aside from yellow cheese. Please do not rely on me and call fro yourself.

no

I kind of mangled that. What I meant to say is that I've seen hotels where they charge for a rollaway, but not if it's for a child. But I've never seen the other way around, where they charge for a child, but not for an adult.
