Just to clarify, there are 2 hotels near center1. One is on top of Center 1, Jerusalem Gate.  It is not anything fancy or nice. Its not a place to go on a honeymoon but it is decent.
Jerusalem Gold is closer to the tachana and I don't know anything about it. I know camps do stay there so it probably a hostile type of thing..

Shabbos milk is milk that was milked on Shabbos, usually using a gentile and automation techniques. Even though there is a Heter to milk cows on Shabbat (since the cows are in pain until they are milked), many Hechsherim are Machmir to spill the milk. Milk marked “Mehadrin”, such as Tnuva Mehadrin, Badatz Mehadrin, Badatz R’ Landau, and Eida Charedit, assure you that the milk is not Shabbos milk. On the other hand, regular Tnuva Non-Mehadrin milk may and usually will contain Shabbos milk.

Presumably מעשה שבת, although there shouldn't be any issue after בכדי שיעשו, I never understood this problem.

From the pics the jerusalem gold doesn't seem like a hostel.
I just need a decent place for 2 to 3 nights by myself

Le Meridien Dead Sea. See if anyone is selling their reservation in this thread- http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=11744.0 Of course, if you want a normal room make sure you don't get room 228. The food isn't mehadrin in the LMDS but you can enjoy the breakfast if you know whats mehadrin and whats not. Check the wiki for that.

Additionally, there is also a cafe cafe a few minute walk away that advertises themselves as mehadrin.

Depends on the price ::)
Only the Leonardo is officially mehadrin, but you would be fine in the Citadel or Inbal if you know what to ask the ask the mashgiachs.
